Circular IQ in panel at 3rd World Circular Economy Forum

Circular IQ part of panel on Circular Procurement in Cities at the 3rd World Circular Economy Forum in Helsinki

The quick population growth and urbanization increase puts pressure on cities around the world. Inefficient use of resources and assets make cities linear and unsustainable.

Therefore, cities should use their potential to be both initiators and catalysts for circular change. Actively using their buying power, and the ability of city administrations to plan and support the circular transition.

Circular procurement is a key instrument to leverage many of the pressing waste and circular challenges facing growing cities today, including reducing waste, rethinking resources and creating green growth. Roy Vercoulen will be sharing Circular IQ’s experiences on the topic having served many cities in NL and BE, in tackling these challenges and using over € 430 million in purchasing power to actively prefer and select products and suppliers that are fit for the circular economy
